    Apex IFE

An iPad app built in SwiftUI that simulates the in-flight entertainment system of a fictional airline. Designed for aviation enthusiasts, it recreates the feel of a premium seat-back monitor, with close attention to typography, motion, and visual hierarchy throughout.

It includes a live moving map with a day and night cycle and procedural clouds, real-time flight phase transitions, a music player, and a route browser with destination photography.

    Field Research Submission Tool

For my capstone, my team and I worked with Microsoft and the NDSU Agricultural Data Analytics team on the Field Research Submission Tool (FRST), a web application that improves communication about research trials between stakeholders across North Dakota.

It expanded my skills in building robust web applications, and it was rewarding to contribute to a tool that affects the agriculture industry.

    Alta Temperature Monitoring

We live in an increasingly data-driven world, and there’s no better way to learn how to work with data than to capture your own. Alta is a multi-zone sensor that records temperature and humidity, with an iOS app that shows current and historical readings.

The data is logged to a database, with the eventual goal of using it to find trends and make predictions.

    Apple Vision Pro text input

The course gave me only an objective; the idea, design, and code are my own. The project designs a way to type on Apple Vision Pro by spelling with your hands, using signs based on the ASL alphabet, with a training mode that tunes recognition to your hand.

The semester’s build covers the interface and live tracking of 25 joints on each hand. The recognizer was designed but not finished.

    RoomMate

Working in AV technology at NDSU, I needed to know how long a classroom would be free before starting maintenance. The university’s scheduling tool was hard to use on a phone, and I was rarely at a desk when I needed it. RoomMate queries the university scheduling system and shows what matters in a mobile-friendly way.

    WiFi Monitor

A DSL modem that constantly needs restarting is a problem when internet access is critical. This device checks whether a network is online and, if it isn’t, restarts the network equipment, so critical systems stay up even when nobody is there to intervene.

Built with an ESP32, an OLED display, and a 120V relay, it was one of my first times building every part of a physical system: electrical design, enclosure, programming, testing, and installation.

    Math Is Awesome

Inspired by my own difficulty understanding three-dimensional problems in integral calculus, I wanted a way to see what changes as the inputs change. With the challenge’s short window, I scoped it to introductory geometry: the app lets you explore the area of 2D shapes and the volume of 3D shapes.

    HourCalc

At a summer job I could work up to 39.99 hours a week, and not a minute more. Arriving early or staying late added up, and doing the math in a hurry to figure out when to clock out wasn’t working. So I built HourCalc.

    This site

A hand-built portfolio in React and TypeScript, designed as a spec sheet: ink on paper, a single red pen for annotations, and every case study framed as the ask against what was really needed.

Page titles draw themselves in, cards morph into their case studies, and every page is prerendered so it loads complete.
